m) Methodology used for dating:
Dating was done by multiple comparisons of the time series in question with the regional master Chronology (Eastern Alpine Conifer Chronology, EACC). Statistical crossdating (parameters: Gleichläufigkeit, signature Gleichläufigkeit, t-values after Hollstein and Baillie/Pilcher transformation) was performed by using the raw data of the sample series and the software Win-TSAP. Those positions that produce results above a given threshold (defined individually) are noted for visual checking. The final date is determined by checking the possible crossdating positions visually.
