m) Methodology used for dating:
Dating was conducted by ringwidth measurement and multiple comparisons of the sample time series against a site “master” developed from individual Torneträsk timbers (available via NOAA ITRDB). The Baillie-Pilcher t-statistic was used for primary dating with additional support from visual matching, expert knowledge, Hollstein t, Cumulative Date Index (CDI) and Gleichläufigkeit. The TSAP software program was used for dating. The best match statistics are presented below.
