m) Methodology used for dating:
Ring-width series was crossdated with 86 ring-width series from 36 trees at the Geikie Glacier site. The floating ring-width series that included the sample was then crossdated with several calendar-dated master ring widths series from the Gulf of Alaska that were calendar dated. The dating and interpretation of the tree-ring dates is provided in:
Wiles et al. 2011.

Cross-matching with: First millennium CE chronologies from along the Gulf of Alaska at Sheridan Glacier, Tebenkoff Glacier and Beare Glacier (unpublished). Also dates with long-chronology Columbia Bay (ITRDB). Note that the Sheridan and Tebenkoff Glacier series have been published in Barclay et al. 2009, 2013.
