cross-dating approaches: skeleton plotting and correlation of tree-ring width measurements. Originally the collected specimen was crossdated with skeleton plotting by C.W. Ferguson in 1972, and archived at the LTRR.  The specimen dates are between -4240 and -3390.  The specimen\u2019s surface has prick points for the decadal ring count and written dates (see photo below). For Miyake et al 2017 study we measured tree-ring widths for the interval -4200 to \u2013 3930 astronomical BC years (Zero Year included) and cut off a wood block near the measuring line. ID of TRW series is 72-052.  The series of measured tree-ring widths (271 yrs) was cross-dated with the Methuselah Walk chronology of Bristlecone Pine (INTRDB file ca535.rwl  Span -6000-1979 submitted by D. A. Graybill). The dating was verified with Person correlation in COFECHA program.  Correlation with master is 0.61.
