Originally the collected specimen was crossdated with skeleton plotting by C.W. Ferguson in 1971, and archived at the LTRR. The specimen\u2019s surface has prick points for the decadal ring count and written dates in astronomical years. Digital catalog of LTRR Collection has records of this specimen as 71#59 and 1971#059. Later the ring widths of this specimen were measured and included into the Methuselah Walk chronology of Bristlecone Pine (LaMarche and Harlan 1973). This wood was later remeasured by Salzer as part of the Methuselah Walk chronology and dating confirmed using COFECHA12K version 6.06P. Decades were kept as vouchers from the original 14C sampling of the bristlecone record. These decades and the remaining three sections of material representing the single tree are marked up in astronomical calendar with the year 0. The decades sent to Southon et al. were mistakenly marked 800 to 350 BC because the sender did not realize the significance of the negative year numbers denoting AD\/BC with 0. Instead the sample packets were mis-labelled as \u201cBC\u201d which led to the final publication being offset by 1 year. Years in the ring-width data and table below are the correct astronomical years including year 0.
